Bradfield's Complete Organic Program

For lawns, flower and vegetable gardens, ROSES, shrubs and trees. Generally, after 2 years on this program, application rates can be cut in half for long term maintenance.

Fertilize: Apply Bradfield 3-1-5 Natural Fertilizers four times per year.

  • 1st application in February or March at 20 lbs per 1,000-sq. ft.
  • 2nd application in May or June at 10 lbs per 1,000-sq. ft.
  • 3rd application in Aug or Sept at 10 lbs per 1,000-sq. ft.
  • 4th application in November at 10 lbs per 1,000-sq. ft.

Additional Fertilization Option: Apply Bradfield Corn Gluten two times per year at 20 lbs 1,000-sq. ft. each application. Include flower beds and gardens as well as turf areas.

  • 1st Spring application anytime from late February to mid April. Apply prior to germination of weed seeds. This is generally when ground temperatures start getting into the 50°F range.
  • 2nd application in September or October.
  • Flower beds and gardens should also have an intermediate application at the beginning of Summer.

Compost: Apply any Premium Compost twice per year, Spring and Autumn, at the rate of 20 to 40 lbs per 1,000-sq. ft. on each application.

After the first year on the program, you should have your soil tested to determine if any other specific mineral needs are indicated. For organic oriented testing and recommendations, we recommend Texas Plant & Soil Lab at 956-383-0739.

Beneficial Insects: Cultivate "Ladybugs," "Praying Mantis," "Trichogramma Wasps," "Green Lacewings," and "Beneficial Nematodes" to maintain a natural control over those destructive vegetarian bugs that damage your yard and garden.
Diatomaceous Earth: Microscopic sharp edged particles cut open crawling insects and cause them to dehydrate.
Seaweed: Liquid seaweed, applied as a foliar spray, is a great nutrient rich stress reliever for all plants.
Greensand: Rich in minerals, especially iron.
